Blog Find-Buy Modern Baby

I’d like to start looking for some great baby blogs for you. There are a lot of them out there! But, wouldn’t it be great to have someone else do all the work and find a blog that can help you along with a new baby? Time is precious, right? I think so. The world today is full of Mommy bloggers that are showing off their Mom skills both in how they decorate the nursery, to how they parent. I love them. Of course, being a blogger myself, I’m a little addicted to blogs. I found one the other day … Continue reading

Scrapbooking Blog Month in Review – October 2008

It hardly seems plausible that October is over and we are now staring ahead into November. Before I blink again, I am afraid Christmas will be here and I won’t know where the time went. Before you get all wrapped up in the hustle and bustle of the holiday season, be sure to check out what happened in the scrapbooking blog last month. I’d also like to encourage you to come back and visit frequently in the upcoming weeks for great gift ideas, new products and of course plenty of project ideas and other great scrapbooking related information. Here’s what … Continue reading

Crazy Love: The George Harrison, Pattie Boyd, Eric Clapton Triangle

It must be really cool to have a popular love song written about you. After all, model/photographer Pattie Boyd has had at least four written for her – Something and Bell Bottom Blues by George Harrison and Layla and Wonderful Tonight by Eric Clapton. However, I am not so sure I would want to go through the love triangle these three went through in order to get songs written about me! I thought about this blog after reading the both Pattie and Eric have recently released their autobiographies, both which talk about the love triangle. In case you do not … Continue reading

The Things He Does for Love: Ghost Hunting Classes

Ever since we moved to Nashville and got cable, I’ve been introduced to a whole slew of new TV entertainment. I wrote about how we’re addicted to MTV’s The Hills, but I’m also nuts for Sci Fi’s Ghost Hunters. Heck, I’m nuts about all things ghost period. I signed up to receive a newsletter from a local ghost hunting group here in Nashville, the Adsagsona Paranormal Society. They hold meetings once a month that I’ve been wanting to attend, but something always seems to come up that prevents me from checking them out. However, the other day on their Yahoo! … Continue reading

Should You Start a Direct Sales Blog?

I love blogging. In fact, I am addicted to it. I actually learned how to blog a little over a year ago and was hooked the moment I wrote my first post. As I was learning how to blog, I was also leading an direct sales organization of over three-hundred consultants. I spent much of my time dreaming of ways that I could use a blog to communicate with my downline teams, customers, potential recruits and hostesses. Unfortunately, my company had a policy which restricted any form of online advertising so I wasn’t able to put my ideas into action. … Continue reading

Friday Scrapbook Funnies: Warning Signs That You May Be Addicted to Scrapbooking

Summer is definitely getting hotter, and the days are definitely much longer. I used to be so excited to see the weekend arrive, but now my days and weeks with the kids just sort of blend all together. Thankfully there is plenty of fun and great laughs to get us through the longer days and summer evenings. I thought I’d leave you with a cute weekend laugh. I have had this posted on a bulletin board in my scrap area for a couple of years and just thought I should share it. If you are a scrapbooker, you surely should … Continue reading

Scripted Romance

Many years ago I let my husband off the hook—the one where he gets hung up for failing to come through on Valentine’s Day.  I used to have lots of expectations until I began to realize something….his love for me is shown on a daily basis.  So why expect him to do something extravagant one day a year? Now, I’m not knocking those couples who go all out for Valentine’s Day.  Maybe it’s the fact we’ve been married for more than two decades or it could be we have grown too comfortable—who knows? I just know that my husband feels … Continue reading

The Effects of the Media on Romance

Where do our irrational romantic impulses come from? Are they just something we naturally want; after all, everyone likes to be spoiled. But often we equate all romance with grand gestures, or expect our relationships to play out like fairy tales. We have the media to blame for that. I know I sound like a broken record sometimes, and it must seem like I think we shouldn’t watch movies or television. I don’t believe that at all, but I can testify that too many romcoms, or at least, not approaching them in the right way, can have a negative effect. … Continue reading

Decisions, Decisions

I’m one of those crazy people who love to move. I love having a fresh space to start over in. That feeling of putting everything in it’s place and having the house look so wonderful and organized, I’m addicted to it. Sadly, after just a short time nothing is organized anymore and it seems like I’ve outgrown my space. How do I manage to accumulate so much stuff when I’m not really a shopper? I don’t know how it happens and since I can’t afford to sell my house and move every year or two I need to start working … Continue reading
